Recycling Rules

 

Co-mingled recyclables go in blue cart- these items include:
  • Aluminum cans (i.e. soda cans)
  • Glass containers (i.e. jars)
  • Plastic/cardboard containers (i.e. milk jugs, juice and food containers, water and/or juice bottles)
How to properly dispose of CO-MINGLED recyclables:
  • Bottles, cans and other containers are to be rinsed thoroughly...

Paper-These items include:

  • Cardboard boxes
  • Newspaper
  • Magazines
  • Junk mail
  • Writing/ copy paper
  • Cardboard food boxes such as cereal, pancake, cake, brownies, rice, cookies, & crackers.
How to properly dispose of PAPER recyclables:
  • Cardboard should be broken down/flattened, tied into bundles...
  • Newspapers should be tied into bundles...
  • Other paper/junk mail should be stacked and placed in a brown paper bag...

Paper items should be placed at the curb on your assigned paper recycling collection day.*All co-mingled materials should be placed into your blue recycling cart - loose, not in bags, and rolled to the curb for pick-up on your assigned co-mingled recycling collection day.

Always remember...NEVER PUT ANY RECYCLABLES IN THE BLACK CART.

  • CO-MINGLED RECYCLABLES must go in your BLUE CART.
  • PAPER RECYCLABLES are placed at the CURB 
  • DON'T put paper recyclables in the BLUE CART.
